पाकिस्‍तानी कला जगत में भी छाया ओम पुरी को खोने का मातम

कहते हैं कला का कोई धर्म, कोई जाति नहीं होती. फिर भी अक्‍सर कलाकारों को सरहदों के दायरों में रख कर ही देखा जाता है. कई बार सरहदों के दायरों में बदलते माहौल में अक्‍सर ऐसे विवाद इन कलाकारों को सवालों के घेरे में खड़ा कर देते हैं. लेकिन 66 साल की उम्र में हम सब को यूं छोड़ कर गए ओम पुरी के निधन ने न सिर्फ भारतीय सिनेमा को बल्कि सरहदों के उस पार भी मातम फैला दिया है. पाकिस्‍तानी सिनेमा जगत भी ओम पुरी जैसे कलाकार को खोने के नुकसान से गमगीन है. जहां ओम पुरी के निधन से हिंदी सिनेमा जगत हिला हुआ है वहीं पाकिस्‍तान में भी कुछ कम मायूसी नहीं पसरी है.

पाकिस्‍तानी कलाकारों जैसे फहाद मुस्‍तफा, माहिरा खान, मीशा शफी, रिज अहमद जैसे कई पाकिस्‍तानी एक्‍टर्स ने ओमपुरी के निधन पर अपना शोक जताया है. जल्‍द ही शाहरुख खान की फिल्‍म 'रईस' में शाहरुख के साथ नजर आने वाली एक्‍ट्रेस माहिरा खान ने लिखा, ' दुनिया ने एक महान कलाकार खो दिया, भारतीय सिनेमा के एक शानदार अभिनेता. ईश्‍वर उनकी आत्‍मा को शांति दे.

Rest in peace Om Puri. A true giant of cinema, a hero of mine, and one of the most masterfully talented, humble, and warm souls I ever met. Working with him was an honour. I remember seeing him in classic Bollywood films as well as groundbreaking British cinema like 'My Son the Fanatic' and 'East is East'. He transcended cultural boundaries in a way no one else had at that point, bridging the gap I felt in myself, a consistent presence in both Hindi and English films. I once asked him what film he was proudest of, he told me 'Ardh Satya', where he played an idealistic young cop in a corrupt police force, was one of his first big lead roles and he had a soft spot for it. His charisma shines through from the first frame. In a way Om was like this character, a beacon of warmth in an industry often awash with ego. He was someone who seemed to be doing it for the right reasons, still so humble and cool despite being an icon. He remains an inspiration to so many. Thank you Om-ji, for your incredible gift to us all.
