हांगझाऊ में जारी एशियाई खेलों में शनिवार को सातवां दिन अभी तक का सर्वश्रेष्ठ दिन रहा. और कहा जा सकता है कि अगर प्रदर्शन ऐसा ही रहा, तो भारत इस बार अपना सर्वकालिक सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन कर सकता है. सातवें दिन रोहन बोपन्ना और रुतुजा ने टेनिस के मिक्स्ड डबल्स में भारत को स्वर्ण पदक दिलाया, तो स्कवॉश की टीम ने पाकिस्तान को फाइनल में 2-1 से हराकर स्वर्ण पदक पर कब्जा कर लिया. लेकिन आकर्षण रहे एथलेटिक्स की दस हजार मी. में रजत और कांस्य पदक जीतने वाले कार्तिक कुमार और गुलवीर सिंह. इन दोनों ने दिखाया कि अब भारत एथलेटिक्स में भी और ताकतवर हो रहा है.
इसके अलावा वीमेंस टीम ने वापसी करते हुए सेमीफाइनल में जगह बनाते हुए कांस्य पदक सुनिश्चित किया, तो पुरुष बैडमिंटन ने कोरिया को 3-2 से हराकर फाइनल में प्रवेश कर रजत सुनिश्चत कर दिया. वहीं, हॉकी में भारतीय टीम सभी को भौंचक्का करते हुए पाकिस्तान को 10-2 के विशाल अंतर से रौंद दिया. कुल मिलाकर पाकिस्तान को भारत ने खेलों के सातवें दिन स्कवॉश और हॉकी दोनों में पीटकर करोड़ों भारतीय फैंस को जश्न मनाने का मौका दे दिया. प्रतियोगिता के सातवें दिन की समाप्ति पर भारत के कुल 38 पदक हो गए हैं. इसमें 10 स्वर्ण, 14 रजत और 14 कांस्य पदक शामिल हैं.
