लोकसभा चुनाव (Lok Sabha Election) के दूसरे चरण के तहत 11 राज्य और एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश की 95 सीटों पर मतदान संपन्न हो गया. इस चरण में कुल 66% मतदाताओं ने अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग किया. चुनाव आयोग द्वारा प्राप्त सूचना के अनुसार असम में 78.7%, बिहार में 62.3 फीसदी, छत्तीसगढ़ में 71%, जम्मू-कश्मीर में 43.4%, कर्नाटक में 61.80%, महाराष्ट्र में 62%, मणिपुर में 79.7%, ओडिशा में 64%, पुद्दुचेरी में 78%, तमिलनाडु में 72%, उत्तर प्रदेश में 62.3% और पश्चिम बंगाल में 76.1 फीसदी वोटिंग हुई.
दूसरे चरण के मतदान के लिये यूं तो 19 मार्च को जारी की गयी अधिसूचना के अनुसार 13 राज्यों की 97 सीटों पर मतदान होना था, लेकिन हाल ही में आयोग द्वारा त्रिपुरा की पूर्वी त्रिपुरा और तमिलनाडु की वेल्लोर सीट पर मतदान स्थगित किये जाने के कारण गुरुवार को 11 राज्य और एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश की 95 सीटों पर मतदान हुआ. आपको बता दें कि लोकसभा की 543 सीटों के लिये कुल सात चरणों में चुनाव होना है. पहले चरण में 11 अप्रैल को हुये चुनाव में 20 राज्यों की 91 सीटों पर मतदान हो चुका है. मतगणना 23 मई को होगी. दूसरे चरण में तमिलनाडु की सभी 39 में से 38 लोकसभा सीटों के साथ राज्य की 18 विधानसभा सीटों पर उपचुनाव भी संपन्न हो गया. इसके अलावा बिहार की 40 में से पांच, जम्मू कश्मीर की छह में से दो, उत्तर प्रदेश की 80 में से आठ, कर्नाटक की 28 में से 14, महाराष्ट्र की 48 में से 10 और पश्चिम बंगाल की 42 में से तीन सीटों के लिये भी वोट डाले गए. इस चरण में असम और ओडिशा की पांच पांच सीटों पर भी मतदान संपन्न हो गया.
