एक्जिट पोल पर बीजेपी ने उत्साहित प्रतिक्रिया दी और कहा कि इससे पीएम मोदी के पक्ष में माहौल का पता चलता है. हालांकि विपक्षी दलों ने एक्जिट पोल को खारिज किया है. पक्ष और विपक्ष ने 23 मई तक इंतजार करने की नसीहत दी है. वहीं दूसरी तरफ पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री और तृणमूल कांग्रेस की सुप्रीमो ममता बनर्जी ने एक्जिट पोल को 'अटकलबाजी' करार देते हुए कहा कि उन्हें ऐसे सर्वेक्षणों पर भरोसा नहीं क्योंकि इस 'रणनीति' का इस्तेमाल ईवीएम में 'गड़बड़ी' करने के लिए किया जाता है. वहीं इसके अलावा शिरोमणि अकाली दल (शिअद) प्रमुख सुखबीर सिंह बादल की छोटी बेटी गुरलीन कौर को आदर्श आचार संहिता के कथित उल्लंघन को लेकर नोटिस जारी किया गया है.
