भारतीय सेना ने सीमापार से हो रही पाकिस्तानी गोलाबारी का करारा जवाब देते हुए जम्मू एवं कश्मीर में नियंत्रण रेखा के उस पार स्थित पाकिस्तान की पांच चौकियां ध्वस्त कर दीं. इस कार्रवाई में कई पाकिस्तानी सैनिक ‘हताहत' हुए हैं. एक रक्षा अधिकारी ने यह जानकारी दी. एक रक्षा PRO ने कहा, ‘भारतीय सेना ने जवाबी कार्रवाई की और हमारी लक्षित गोलीबारी में पांच चौकियों को गंभीर नुकसान पहुंचा और (राजौरी और पुंछ जिलों में नियंत्रण रेखा से लगे क्षेत्र में) पाकिस्तानी सेना के कई जवान हताहत हुए.' इसके अलावा विपक्षी दलों की बुधवार को होने वाली की बैठक में न्यूनतम साझा कार्यक्रम पर बातचीत होने होने की संभावना नहीं है और अब पाकिस्तान के भीतर आतंकी ठिकानों पर वायुसेना की कार्रवाई को लेकर मुख्य रूप से चर्चा हो सकती है.
