कर्नाटक में एच डी कुमारस्वामी के नेतृत्व वाली जदएस-कांग्रेस सरकार के मंगलवार को राज्य विधानसभा में विश्वासमत हासिल करने में विफल रहने के तुरंत बाद कर्नाटक भाजपा अध्यक्ष बी एस येदियुरप्पा ने कहा कि वह पार्टी के केंद्रीय नेताओं से सलाह लेने के बाद ही राज्यपाल से मुलाकात करेंगे. उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘यह (हार) लोकतंत्र की जीत है. कुमारस्वामी सरकार से लोग तंग आ चुके थे.'' येदियुरप्पा ने एक सवाल के जवाब में संवाददाताओं से कहा, ‘‘मैं प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और (पार्टी) के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष अमित शाह जी से चर्चा करूंगा, उसके बाद राज्यपाल से मिलूंगा.''
