एक्ट्रेस रीमा लागू का बीती रात दिल का दौरा पड़ने के चलते निधन हो गया है. जानकारी के अनुसार उन्होंने रात 3 बजकर 15 मिनट पर अंतिम सांस ली. रीमा लागू को तबियत खराब होने के चलते पिछले कुछ दिनों से मुंबई के कोकिलाबेन हॉस्पिटल में भर्ती कराया गया था. वह 59 वर्ष की थीं.

अमिताभ बच्चन ने उनके अचानक हुए निधन को शॉकिंग बताया है. फिल्म 'हम आपके हैं कौन' में रीमा लागू की बेटी का किरदार निभा चुकी माधुरी दीक्षित ने भी उनके निधन पर शोक जताया है. वहीं एक्टर रणदीप हुड्डा, गौहर खान, नील नितिन मुकेश, . प्रियंका चोपड़ा ने रीमा लागू के निधन को भारतीय सिनेमा के लिए एक बड़ा नुकसान बताया है.

रीमा लागू कई फिल्मों में मां के किरदार में नजर आ चुकी हैं. महेश भट्ट द्वारा निर्देशित 'वास्तव' में संजय दत्त ने रीमा लागू के बेटे का किरदार निभाया था. इस फिल्म में रीमा लागू ने संजय दत्त का मां का किरदार कुछ ऐसे निभाया कि उन्हें इसके लिए फिल्मफेयर का 'बेस्ट सपोर्टिंग एक्ट्रेस' का अवॉर्ड भी मिला. जबकि रीमा लागू संजय दत्त से सिर्फ एक ही साल बड़ी थीं.
