That's all, folks! New Zealand finally have some teeth in the game and a win by 50 runs against this Indian team is something to be proud of. The Kiwis have one more game left before they begin their preparations for the mega event and so do India. The 5th and final T20I will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday, the 31st of January. It should be another cracker of a game as we might get a glimpse at the combination of the Playing XI that might be used by both sides in their opening World Cup fixtures. The first ball will be bowled at 7 pm IST (1.30 pm GMT), but as usual, you can join us sooner for the build-up. ADIOS. TAKE CARE.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Tim Seifert is the Player of the Match for his fiery knock of 62 off just 36 balls up top. Tim says that they decided to take the bowlers on early and sometimes you can get a bit lucky with the top edges. Adds that Jasprit Bumrah got him with a beauty in the last game but feels that if you get him away on the first ball, things can be a bit easier. Mentions that they want to put that pressure on the opposition bowlers early on because that's the nature of T20 cricket. Adds that they have to keep the T20 World Cup in mind and if the pitches are anywhere close to the ones in this series, they have to score big runs.

The captain of New Zealand - Mitchell Santner says that the way they started in the Powerplay is exactly what India have been doing to them throughout the series. Adds that against this Indian batting unit, even 200 doesn’t really feel safe. Mentions that they didn't want batters to go into a shell after being bowled out for 153 in the last game. Believes that there is no better preparation than playing against quality opposition like India, and with a couple of players set to come in for the final game, the focus is firmly on getting roles sorted and clarity within the group. Explains that the surface was a bit tacky, and when bowled slower through the air, there was turn on offer. Reckons that wickets in the Powerplay make life much easier for the spinners.

The Indian captain - Suryakumar Yadav says that they purposely played 6 batters and 5 proper bowlers to challenge themselves, so they are not too displeased by the outcome. Adds that they have batted really well so far and it was a good challenge to go after a big target, and it's all good learning in the end. Further mentions about the positives and mentions the knock of Shivam Dube but admits that 50 runs is a big margin and they will try to bounce back stronger.

Time for the post-match Presentations...

Let's recap the first innings - India opted to field first on a pitch that looked absolutely flat and with the dew coming into play later on, it made all the sense. However, New Zealand took a leaf out of Abhishek Sharma's book and Tim Seifert came out all guns blazing. The Kiwi openers put on 71 runs in the Powerplay without getting out and that set the tone for the rest of the game. The innings did start to simmer down a bit in the middle phase but Daryl Mitchell re-ignited things at the death and took his side to a formidable score of 215. On the bowling front, none of the Indian bowlers were spared early on, not even Jasprit Bumrah. However, both he and Arshdeep Singh came back strongly to pick up a wicket and the hosts started to just crawl their way back in the first innings. However, the likes of Ravi Bishnoi and Harshit Rana couldn't quite get their lengths right and went for plenty as India conceded a heavy total.

A quick word from Matt Henry. He says that coming here and playing against a very strong side, the focus was on continuing the good stuff rather than searching for answers after defeats. Believes that this win says a lot about the group. Adds that confidence is a huge part of success, and having belief in the process makes a real difference. Says that it was pleasing to put together a complete performance, especially the way the team scrapped and fought through key moments. Mentions that the wicket of Abhishek Sharma was a massive one, as he has shown just how dangerous he can be. Highlights the fielding effort, and he feels that converting the half chances make all the difference. Reckons that assessing the conditions is crucial. Further says that there will be overs where you go for runs, but the key is to keep fighting and keep believing. Shares that coming into this series, it was important for him to get overs into the legs.

A meek day out with the bat for India - Even with 216 needed for the win, India started as the favorites in the chase, simply because of what we had seen earlier in the series. Their spearhead with the bat, Abhishek Sharma, went for a golden duck and the top order never looked settled. Sanju Samson failed to grasp another golden opportunity but Rinku Singh showed promise of filling the gap at number 4, if needed. Shivam Dube was the one standout and he hit the ball as clean as anyone tonight. His knock of 65 from just 23 balls was the highlight of what was rather an underwhelming chase from India.

Stepping up - Life is all about stepping up in the key moments and so far in this series, the Kiwis weren't quite able to achieve that. However, the case is different tonight as they were on it from the get-go with both bat and ball. Matt Henry dismissed Abhishek Sharma on the very first ball of the chase and that set the ball rolling. Jacob Duffy then pulled off a fine return catch to dismiss the other in-form batter and after that, they kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals. The visitors did face some stiff resistance from Shivam Dube but once he was dismissed, they wrapped things up rather quickly. In terms of bowling, it was an all-round effort but the skipper, Mitchell Santner, led the wickets with 3 to his name and the pacers bowled particularly well.

End of India's dominance - New Zealand wrap up a dominant performance in style and get their first win of this five-match T20I series. The series might be long gone but this win will do wonders for the confidence of the Kiwi players as they look to put their best foot forward ahead of the T20 World Cup. The hosts looked unbeatable in the first three games but they have been handed a thumping here and this will give the team something to ponder upon as they too look to tweak a few things ahead of the mega event in home conditions.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! That is it for the game. Duffy spots Kuldeep backing away, and he follows him with a well-directed short ball, aimed at the badge of the helmet. Yadav gets his hands high to pull. He gets into an awkward position and takes his eyes off the ball. It comes off the gloves and lobs behind towards the keeper, Tim Seifert, who makes no mistake. New Zealand win by 50 runs!

Duffy bowls it on a back of a length at 128.8 kph, on middle. Ravi swings ungainly across the line in front of square for a run.

Pushed across the left-hander, on a good length. Kuldeep runs it down to deep third with an open bat face. Ish Sodhi slides in the deep and cuts it off. He slips while releasing the throw but it does not cost any extra runs.

Angled in at the hips, on a back of a length. Bishnoi has a swing across the line and smears it to deep backward square leg for a single.

Looped up, on off, Kuldeep plays the reverse sweep but it goes straight to short third.

Kuldeep Yadav is the last man in for India.

OUT! CAUGHT! Third wicket of the night for the Kiwi skipper. Santner bowls a flighted delivery, full and around the off pole. Bumrah gets down on a knee and goes for the hard sweep. He is unable to roll his wrists over the ball and the ball drops on him. The ball goes straight up off a top edge and Ish Sodhi does the rest on the edge of the ring at short fine leg.

Santner hangs it up there, full and on middle. Bishnoi advances down the track and swings hard. He can only manage to hit it down to long on. They cross.

This is speared in, fuller and quicker, on off, Bishnoi did step out a bit early. He had to adjust in the end by digging it out to cover.

More air on this one, full and on off, Ravi attempts the reverse sweep and plays it down to short third.

Loopy ball, on off, Bishnoi has a hoick across the line but he miscues it off the toe end to cover.

FOUR! Good shot! Floated up, googly on middle, Bumrah drops on a knee and gets his hands out in front for the sweep. He plays it in front of square and wide of deep mid-wicket for a boundary.

Wickets are falling like a house of cards right now. Jasprit Bumrah is in at number 10 for India.

OUT! TAKEN! Expertly held by Mitchell Santner! Sodhi pushes it through, on middle. Not all that short to hang deep in the crease. Arshdeep walks across the stumps and has a swipe across the line. A top edge is found and it goes towards the vacant mid on region. Santner turns around and goes after it. He keeps his eyes on the ball all the way through and takes the catch close to his chest. Two wickets in the over for Sodhi.

Out comes the googly, on a length, outside off. Arshdeep gets down on a knee and attempts the slog sweep but is beaten as the ball goes over the blade.

The next batter is Arshdeep Singh.

OUT! CAUGHT! End of a scratchy stay for Rana. Cleverly bowled by Sodhi. He spots Harshit stepping out and he fires it full and wide. Rana reaches out to lay some bat on it. Gets it off the outer half and it lobs to short third, where Rachin Ravindra takes a dolly. India are now 7 down for 157, needing 59 runs from 21 balls.

Sliding on with the arm, short and it stays a bit low. Rana backs away to go through the off side. Ends up chopping it down to point.

A bit too short from Ish, on off, Bishnoi backs away and slaps it over cover. Matt Henry gets around in the deep and the second run was always on but Rana slipped at the batting end and the batters had to settle with one.

FOUR! Easy pickings! Santner is crossed with himself. Santner darts it in at the pads, on a nagging length. Rana walks inside the line and tickles it fine of the diving short fine leg fielder for a boundary. 60 needed off 24 for India.

Nicely bowled! Shorter and wider, turning away, Harshit reaches out to force it away but ends up bunting it back towards the bowler.

Fractionally short, on middle, Ravi pulls it to deep mid-wicket for one.

FOUR! Ish Sodhi should have done better there. Flighted delivery, full and on middle. Bishnoi reaches out in front and gets low for the reverse. The ball is ballooned off a top edge and Sodhi runs forward before putting in the slide. He fails to get his body behind the ball and it bounces past him for a four.

Floated up, on off, Bishnoi backs away to go inside out.  Ends up miscuing it back over the bowler's head and they cross for a single.

A hush falls around the ground as Shivam Dube departs. New Zealand are jubilant. Ravi Bishnoi makes his way out to the centre. Mitchell Santner brings himself back into the attack.

OUT! SHIVAM DUBE IS RUN OUT! That is probably a very unfortunate way for a stellar innings to end. Matt Henry takes pace off and bowls it a bit short on off. Harshit Rana backs away and slams the ball straight down the pitch. Henry does extremely well in his follow-through to get down and get a right hand on it. The ball flicks the fingers and hits the stumps at the bowler's end with Dube backing up well outside his crease. Dube has to walk back for 65 (23) and Henry is absolutely pumped.

Gone this time? Matt Henry is celebrating. He is sure of the touch.

Short again, angled in, pulled away to deep mid-wicket for one.

FOUR! No dramas and Bevon Jacobs did signal a four to begin with. Banged in short over leg stump, Dube gets inside the line and angles the pull down to long leg. The substitute fielder, Jacobs, runs across to his left and puts in a big dive, flicking it back in. The fielder from short fine leg gives him good company and throws it back to the keeper who whips off the bails. The batters had stopped as they thought it was a boundary and replays do confirm the same.

What has happened here? A lot of confusion. A run out has been effected at the batting end. It won't count. Bevon Jacobs was not successful in saving the boundary. The ball had already touched the boundary cushions before he flicked it back into play.

Short of a good length and wide outside off, Dube goes for the cut but a bit half-heartedly and fails to get any bat on it.

SIX! Just over the fielder's head. Back of a length from Henry, a bit slower and around off. Shivam Dube mistimes the pull and ends up hitting it straighter towards long on. Daryl Mitchell stays on the edge of the ropes and leaps up but the ball sails over for a maximum.

Matt Henry comes back with India needing 82 runs off 36 balls. 2-0-13-1 so far for Henry.

Fuller in length, pace-on and attacking the stumps. Rana gets leg side of the ball and pushes it to extra cover.

WIDE. Slower bumper on middle, this one lobs over the batter's head and Rana leaves it alone.

A bouncer now, over middle. The ball comes in around head height and Dube pulls it down through square leg for one more.

Back of a length and over off, angling in. Rana stays back and sensibly just nudges it wide of point for a single.

Hard length, darted into middle and leg. Dube whips it away to deep mid-wicket for a single.

Foulkes comes around the wicket to the left-hander. He nails the wide yorker and Dube cannot lay a bat on it.

Shorter in length and at the batter, Rana nudges it down through the square leg region and picks up a single.

42 runs off the last 2 overs. Mitchell Santner turns to Zakary Foulkes. He has picked up a wicket and conceded 24 runs in his 2 overs so far.

Duffy comes from around the wicket and goes full and wide, flirting with the tramline. Dube leaves it alone but it is called a fair delivery.

SIX! FIFTY OFF JUST 15 BALLS FOR DUBE! A low full toss on leg stump, Shivam Dube stays put and flicks it off the legs, and the ball sails over deep backward square leg for a biggie. Dube just misses out on equalling the record for the second-fastest half century by an Indian batter in T20Is, which Abhishek Sharma set just a few days ago, as he got to fifty off just 14 balls.

Dube was fine to walk off but that's a big inside edge. This is full and straight, Dube looks to flick but misses and gets pinged on the pads. An appeal for LBW, and up goes the finger. Shivam Dube is hesitant to review it and the third umpire is called in. Replays show a clear inside edge and the on-field decision is changed to NOT OUT. Dube has a chuckle about it as well.

SIX! My word, that is big! Slower delivery, back of a length and just outside off. This one sits up for the batter, Dube leans across and pummels it in front of deep mid-wicket for a 100-meter behemoth.

A well-directed short ball, right at the batter. Rana takes his eyes off the ball a bit and mistimes the pull in front of square leg for a single.

Short of a length and over off, Rana looks to lean back and ramp it away but is beaten.

SIX! A third maximum to finish the over and Dube has raced to 40 off just 12 balls. Sodhi drags it down on leg stump, Dube hangs back and lays into the pull, plastering the ball over deep mid-wicket for another biggie. 29 off the over.

SIX! Make that 23 and Shivam Dube is having some fun out there. Flighted ball, not all that full and around middle, Dube lunges to reach for it and keeps his balance before clobbering it wide of long on for a huge six.

FOUR! Tossed up on middle and leg, right in the slot. Dube clears the front leg and slogs it wide of deep mid-wicket. The ball skids off the turf and goes over the ropes. 17 off the over already.

SIX! A colossal hit from Shivam Dube. Shortish length on leg, Dube rocks back and whacks it high and handsome over deep square leg for a biggie. The 100 is now up for India as well.

WIDE! A shorter googly that turns away past the tramline outside off. Left alone by Dube.

FOUR! No chance for Phillips this time. Full and straight, heaved across the turf and perfectly between long on and deep mid-wicket for a boundary by Dube.

Flatter delivery on middle, Dube smacks it flat and to the left of the bowler. Sodhi sticks out a left hand more in hope than anything. The ball goes quickly to the right of long on but Phillips is onto it in a flash. He slides in and knocks it towards the incoming long off fielder and saves a couple of runs for his side.

Slower one at 114.4 kph, bowled full and outside off. Shivam Dube squeezes the ball through the point region for a single. There is a slight fumble in the deep but the batters settle for the single.

Awkward bounce for the fielder but Ish Sodhi does get a hand on it. Good length on off, Dube looks to play across the line but gets an outside edge that goes towards short third. Sodhi parries the ball behind and the batters pick up two runs.

WIDE. Slower bumper, dug in well short and around off, this one flies over Dube's head.

OUT! LBW! Slower one from around the wicket. On a fullish length and angled in from off stump. Rinku sits down to play a cheeky lap but gets into a tangle. The ball grips and beats the bat to hit the pads. A clever change of pace from Zakary Foulkes and after a vociferous appeal, the umpire's finger is raised. Rinku Singh has no option but to review it. The third umpire checks UltraEdge first and there's clearly no bat involved and then Ball Tracking comes up with three reds. It stays OUT and India lose a wicket right after the break.

FOUR! Nicely done. Good length but on the pads, Rinku Singh clips it down to the left of short fine leg and gets it through for a boundary.

That's top work in the deep from Glenn Phillips. Hammered in on a hard length over middle and leg. Dube stays put and plays a short-arm pull, lifting it between long on and deep mid-wicket. Phillips runs around to his right from deep mid-wicket and collects it on the bounce, keeping it down to a single.

Drinks Break! What a stark contrast from the first three games. New Zealand have managed to dismantle the in-form Indian top-order and have now given themselves a very sizeable chance of winning the game. India need 139 more off the last 60 balls but with the extra bowler playing today, after these two, there's only Harshit Rana, who can actually hit a few balls out of the park. Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh have the opportunity to show their mettle and if they are able to take the game close, India will have a tick mark in terms of their preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Superb work! Fuller and on off, Rinku looks to get a single by working it down the ground. Phillips dives to his right on the follow-through and gets a hand to it. He parries it away to cover and prevents the single.

Shorter and outside off, Rinku hangs back and cuts it behind square. Mark Chapman sprints to his right in the deep and cuts off the boundary with a dive, saving a couple of runs for his side.

India are 4 down inside the first 9 overs, uncharted territory for them in this series. Out walks Shivam Dube, replacing Hardik Pandya.

OUT! CAUGHT! Hardik Pandya falls for the bait. Beautifully flighted by Santner, full and outside off. Hardik spots the ball above his eyeline and he looks to go inside out over cover. The ball turns away enough to catch the outer half. It is spooned to point, where Zakary Foulkes moves to his right and takes the catch by getting low.

Outside off, on a nagging length, Rinku firmly hits it to cover. The fielder makes a half-stop. The ball rolls away to his right for a single.

Short again, across off. Rinku is taken aback as the ball kicks up a bit. He dabs it down to point.

Going across the left-hander, on the shorter side. Rinku cuts it wide of the diving backward point fielder. Glenn Phillips is quick to cut it off in the deep but cannot prevent the second run.

Slider, full and on off, Rinku taps it wide of cover and crosses over.

And again! This is even slower, enticing the batter into the big hit. It is full as well, around off. Hardik has a big swing at it but does not connect. Tim Seifert is quick to whip the bails off. Oh, hang on, New Zealand have reviewed for caught behind. So, that will be checked first. Flat line on the UltraEdge. Over to the stumping check now. Pandya's back leg never lifted and he is safe.

The next batter is in. There's a loud cheer from the crowd even though a wicket has fallen because it is Hardik Pandya, who comes in at number 5.

OUT! CASTLED! Sanju Samson's lean run continues. Samson shows his cards early as he backs away, exposing all three stumps. Santner darts in a full ball at the sticks. A tentative prod by Sanju with his feet going nowhere. Not much movement off the surface but if anything, the ball straightened a bit. It sneaks past the outside edge and clatters into the stumps. 24 (15) for Samson. India are now 55/3, chasing 216.

End of the Powerplay. India are 18 runs short and two wickets worse than where New Zealand were at the same stage. Mitchell Santner brings himself into the attack as soon as the fielding restrictions are lifted.

SIX! In the arc and out of the park! Duffy spots Samson taking a step away from the stumps. He tries to follow him with an off-cutter but ends up serving it right in the slot. Sanju swings across and clobbers it over deep square leg for a six. 50 comes up for India.

DROPPED! A tough chance but Glenn Phillips sets pretty high standards for himself and he will mark this as a dropped catch. Rinku gives the bowler the charge and Duffy responds by nailing the yorker at the toes. Singh tries to clip it away on the leg side with a closed bat face. The bat twists in his hand and the ball balloons off a leading edge towards backward point. Phillips moves to his left and flings himself towards the ball. He gets his hands under the ball but the ball does not stick in his grasp. They cross.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Another one bites the dust and New Zealand are off to a flying start with the ball. A stellar return catch from Jacob Duffy and the Indian skipper has to depart as well. This is hammered in on a hard length over off. Suryakumar Yadav gets forward but gets on his toes and gets his feet tangled up. He tries to hit on the up but ends up pushing it straight back. Duffy gets low in his follow-through and snaffles it brilliantly. Replays confirm the same and India are 9/2.

FOUR! No stopping the ball once it goes in the gap on this dewy outfield. Good-length delivery on the pads, SKY flicks it off the front foot and gets it wide of square leg for a boundary.
