Right then, Andre Russell signs off from international cricket, but not before leaving the Sabina Park faithful with a few lasting memories through selfies and autographs. West Indies have it all to do with no room for error from here on, while Australia will look to extend their dominance on this Caribbean sojourn. The caravan moves to St Kitts for the remainder of the series. The third T20I will be played on Friday, 25th July at Warner Park in Basseterre, with the first ball scheduled for 11 pm GMT. Join us early for all the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!
The skipper of Australia, Mitchell Marsh, starts by saying they have a lot of talented players in Australia, and he knows that the big guys won't be able to play all three formats all the time, so it is important to have depth in the set-up. He mentions that International cricket is the biggest stage, so it’s important to make the young players feel relaxed and at ease. On asked about Cameron Green, he says that Green hasn't played a lot of T20 cricket for Australia, but he is a really important player for them. On what areas he would like his team to improve, he says that they dropped four catches today, and hence, they need to work on that. On asked about positives, he says that the spinners were fantastic and made good use of the conditions. He adds that whenever Inglis is batting the way he did today, there are not many bowlers who can stop him.
The captain of West Indies, Shai Hope says the side needs to develop their strike rotation better. He mentions that while they have power at the back end, it hasn't quite clicked the way they would have liked. Insists there can be no faulting the preparation and it is about executing in pressure situations.  Feels that dropped catches are all part of the game but it is about putting them behind and turning up for the next ball.
Josh Inglis is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his swashbuckling, unbeaten 78-run knock off 33 balls. On asked about innovation being a big part of his game, he says it’s the nature of his size, as he is not that tall, he tried to find ways to score through innovation. On his batting position in the middle order, he says now with experience he is comfortable to bat in in different positions for the team. On the current Aussie squad, he says it’s a great group, all are young and fresh and they have a lot of fun together, having been there for almost 18 months with big boys taking breaks. On his batting with Green, he says they managed the middle phase well and he is happy with the overall effort.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
Andre Russell, who has now hung up his boots in international cricket, is here to have a chat. He starts by saying thanks to the people of Sabina Park. He adds that he is happy to play his last game in front of family and friends. He says that the crowd has been fantastic and apologises to the crowd for the loss. On asked about his most memorable moment, he says winning the two T20 World Cups will always be his cherished memory. He feels that it’s the right time to hang up his boots as there is now a lot of good talent in the West Indies' batting setup and it's time to give them their opportunities.
Earlier, after being inserted into bat, Brandon King led the early charge for the home side. He took his time to settle before finding his rhythm, but Australia managed to nip that threat in the bud. From there, the visitors kept chipping away at the wickets before Andre Russell, donning the maroon for one final time, provided the fireworks. A late flourish from Gudakesh Motie ensured Windies went past 170 but it did not prove to be enough on the night. Adam Zampa was the standout performer with the ball for Australia, returning figures of 3 for 29 from his four overs. He was well supported by Glenn Maxwell and Nathan Ellis, who chipped in with two wickets apiece.
While it was a bit of a struggle early on for Cameron Green, Josh Inglis had anything but that. The way Inglis struck the ball took the pressure off Green. Soon, Green found his footing, and from there, the duo simply ran away with the game with a record third-wicket stand for Australia in T20Is of 131 runs. Despite the assistance on offer from the surface, the West Indies spinners erred in pace and length. They bowled a touch too quick through the air and a fraction short, which played right into the hands of Green and Inglis, who feasted on anything that sat up.
Andre Russell, at the halfway mark, felt they were about 20 runs short and the way Australia aced the chase, it is fair to say West Indies were 'at least' that many runs short. That said, they did start promisingly with the ball. The move to push Glenn Maxwell up the order didn’t pay off, and Mitchell Marsh also fell inside the Powerplay. At that stage, the hosts had their tails up. But then came that over from Gudakesh Motie, where as many as three chances went down. Not all of them were sitters by any means, but sometimes, all it takes is for one to stick to turn the momentum. From that point on, it began to swing firmly Australia’s way.
Easy as you like! On a surface that was on the slower side and offered a bit of grip, Australia have made light work of the chase. With this win, they go 2-0 up in the series. There is a silence in the crowd as it turned out to be far from the farewell the home crowd had hoped for their local hero, Andre Russell. While Russell will still be seen around the franchise circuit, this was his final appearance in maroon.

DRINKS BREAK! Australia are motoring along with 50 runs coming in the last 4 overs, and West Indies badly needed this pause in play to try and halt the momentum. Whether it helps or not is another matter, but it does give Shai Hope a chance to regroup his men and have a much-needed chat. Through the onslaught, especially from Josh Inglis, the required run rate has dipped below 8. The hosts now desperately need a couple of quick wickets to wrest back control, or else Australia will continue to run away with the game. Hope brings Akeal Hosein (3-0-26-0) back into the attack.

In the channel on off, a bit of away movement, on a good length, Maxwell has a tame poke at the delivery as he looks to open the face of the bat and run it down. The outside edge is induced and the keeper, Shai Hope does the rest.
