PITCH REPORT - Ebony Rainford-Brent says the conditions are ideal for batting, with temperatures around 30 degrees, a 72m straight boundary and short square boundaries measuring 61m and 62m. Ian Smith adds that the traditional Oval surface is hard and should play nicely, although the slight green tinge is expected to provide good carry and make deliveries around stump height difficult to negotiate early on. He is surprised New Zealand chose to bat first and believes a total of 170-180 will be needed to stay ahead in the contest.

Skipper of England Women - Charlie Dean says they were looking to bowl as they haven't had to chase, so they were looking to prepare for that. Dean informs that they are fielding the same team. Dean mentions that Nat Sciver-Brunt is recovering well and qualifying early gives the side that advantage to not risk her here.

Skipper of New Zealand Women - Amelia Kerr says the plan is to put runs on the board and later put England Women under pressure. She adds that they were previously hoping for an Ireland win, but now their qualification is in their own hands. Kerr describes it as a must-win game and another chance to perform under pressure on the world stage. She notes that two wins would significantly lift the mood in the dressing room. She concludes by saying New Zealand haven’t been at their best in the tournament so far, but today is an opportunity to deliver their strongest performance.
