Real Madrid star striker Karim Benzema won the Ballon d'Or title for the year 2022 at a ceremony held in Paris.

Benzema is the 5th French player to win the Ballon d'Or title. Before him, Zinedine Zidane had won this award in the year 1998.

Benzema is the oldest player to win this title after England legend Sir Stanley Matthews in 1956.

Benzema scored 44 goals in 46 matches for Real Madrid last season. He scored 15 goals in 12 matches in the UCL.
